About Us

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? Psalm 11:3

Please consider the following…

  • In 2006 only 17.3% of Americans attended church on any given Sunday.
  • If current trends continue by the year 2020 that figure will drop to 14.7%.
  • It is estimated that only 4% of today’s preschool age children will become Christian upon reaching adulthood.
  • Evolution is the state sponsored religion of public education.
  • Christians are discriminated against in educational institutions.
  • Abortion is now legal in all 50 states.
  • Marriage and human sexuality are being redefined.

The Bible teaches that each Christian generation is responsible for evangelizing future generations in addition to its own. God will hold this generation of Christians accountable if we continue to apathetically allow the foundations of American Christianity to erode. Combating these trends is the reason for the establishment of Seventh Generation Initiative.

Our purpose is threefold…

  1. Plant and develop new well-conceived Christian churches.
  2. Reestablish the influence of Christianity in American education.
  3. Strengthen marriages and families to meet the challenges of today’s culture.

The erosion of Christian foundations in our country is hindering the churches ability to evangelize our communities. Our goal is to protect these Christian foundations so that local churches will once again be major positive influences in our culture.

Our Name

“In every deliberation, we must consider the impact on the seventh generation… even if it requires having skin as thick as the bark of a pine.”

This an often repeated statement originating from the Constitution of the Iroquois Nations. It is referred to as “The Binding Law.” In the expanded version there is a very important line…

“Look and listen for the welfare of the whole people and have always in view not only the past and present but also the coming generations.”

These two sentences serve as our philosophical guide for ministry. It is our desire that we impact not only this present generation for Christ but that our work will carry on into future generations – that is – to the Seventh Generation. Thus the name, Seventh Generation Initiative (SGI).
